CLA National Conference and Trade Show Audio Visual Rentals

I just wanted to give a quick heads up to anyone who is planning to exhibit at the Canadian Library Association’s 64th national conference, but has not yet signed up for a spot. There are only 40 exhibit spaces left so stop putting it off and sign up! And once you have signed up, make sure not to procrastinate too long before booking your audio visual rentals as well.

The Canadian Library Association (CLA) National Conference and Tradeshow is being held from Friday, May 29 to Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Quebec. Apparently this time frame is a little bit different from other years.

According to the website, also new for 2009 is the program committee, which includes an eclectic and qualified group of individuals who are expected to create a great 2009 program.

Audio Visual Rentals Save the Day!


I was at a conference this week and some of the break-out sessions were held in rooms that were not that big. I happen to attend a lot of conferences and events, so I am aware from experience that there are many conference organizers who will choose not to equip smaller rooms with audio visual rentals. This is especially true when the event organizer is dealing with several sessions, some of them much larger, going on simultaneously in separate rooms. I was happy to see that this was not the case at this particular conference; the organizer had ensured that audio visual rentals were set up for each session that occurred.

In one particular session, I was especially pleased that the event organizer has equipped the room with a large screen. Although the room was not very large, it was a full house. Every seat seemed to be occupied and the three seats directly in front of me seemed to be occupied by the three tallest people in the place! Thankfully, there was great audio equipment so I could hear the panel perfectly and there was also a very large screen so I could see which member of the panel was talking. It ended up being one of my favourite, information rich sessions of the event, whereas, without the audio visual rentals, it likely would have been one of my least favourite experiences at the event and I likely would have walked away frustrated . So, for me anyway, audio visual rentals saved the day!
